Syrma SGS Technology, a leading Electronics System Design, and Manufacturing (ESDM) service provider based in San Jose and Chennai, today announced its latest and fifth manufacturing plant at Bawal, located in the Delhi-Mumbai industrial corridor. Built with an investment commitment of $10M in 3 years down the line, this new Bawal plant is designed to fortify Syrma’s market position among high-demand electronic markets within India, including automotive, aerospace, defense, healthcare industrial. The new Bawal facility is built in an area of 26K sq ft, and it has the capacity to assemble over 2K sq. meters of PCBs. It also has a 10K SMT cleanroom that can expand up to 5 times its present capacity in the next 3 years.

At its full capacity, the plant will create employment opportunities for over 1K people. Syrma, a part of Tandon Group, has been an export-oriented business unit for over a decade. Earlier this year, the company announced setting up this facility as part of its foray into the domestic market. “With the launch of our new Bawal facility, Syrma will be positioned to gain a stronger foothold among domestic electronics manufacturing in India, for India,” said Dr. Sreeram Srinivasan, Syrma’s CEO. “As more domestic tech-savvy customers crave world-class manufacturing locally, we’re excited about bringing our legacy of innovation and quality to more consumers in our home country.” With the increasing adoption of electronics across the domains and products becoming intelligent daily, India’s ESDM market is growing at a very healthy pace, which is estimated to reach $230B by 2020.
